SEOUL, South Korea – Liberian Foreign Minister Sarah Bisulu Nanti, in Seoul on Sunday, reiterated her country’s support for Morocco’s sovereignty over its entire territory, including the Moroccan Sahara.
‘Liberia’s position is unwavering and our support for Morocco’s sovereignty over its entire territory is unwavering,’ the Liberian Foreign Minister said after meeting with her Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita, on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the first edition of the Korea-Africa Summit.
Strong bilateral relations between Morocco and Liberia
Nanti praised the relations between Morocco and Liberia, noting that ‘the two countries are strategically moving towards strengthening these relations and accelerating joint action on the African continent to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.’
Morocco’s important role in strengthening Korea-Africa relations
The Liberian minister also highlighted the ‘important’ role Morocco plays in strengthening Korea’s relations with African countries, given the good relations it enjoys with African countries.
‘Morocco can help many African countries to benefit more from Korea-Africa cooperation,’ Nanty said, with the aim of advancing the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
Emphasising the importance of African cooperation
Liberia’s support for Morocco’s sovereignty over its entire territory reflects the depth of fraternal relations between the two countries and their keenness to strengthen cooperation in various fields, including support for common African issues.
The Liberian Foreign Minister’s statement also emphasises the importance of intra-African cooperation and Morocco’s role as a key player in promoting this cooperation, in order to serve the interests of the African continent and contribute to achieving sustainable development.
