A police inspector working in the Sidi Bernoussi security zone in Casablanca was forced to use his service weapon, on Thursday, to arrest a 29-year-old man, who was in an advanced state of anesthesia, and endangered the lives of citizens and the safety of police officers with the use of a bladed weapon.
According to preliminary information, the suspect, who was under the influence of a state of anesthesia caused by the use of narcotic substances, launched a serious physical attack on nine people with a bladed weapon, for no apparent reason, resulting in the death of one of the victims and the injury of the others.
During the security operation, a police inspector had to use his service weapon, hitting the suspect in the lower body, which contributed to neutralizing the danger and arresting the suspect, and the suspect and the victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The suspect was kept under medical custody at the hospital pending judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, in order to uncover the real backgrounds and circumstances surrounding the commission of these criminal acts.
