Israeli army announced that a shooting incident took place on Monday with Egyptian forces at the border post of Rafah between Egypt and the Gaza Strip.
A few hours ago, there was a shooting at the Egyptian border. The incident is under investigation and a dialogue is ongoing with the Egyptian side, said the army in a statement.
The Israeli public television channel KAN reported that an Egyptian soldier was killed in the shooting.
No injuries were reported among the Israeli soldiers.
Israeli Channel 12 described the shooting as “unusual.”
Egyptian authorities have not made any comments on the incident.
