In a statement to Fez News, Abdelrafi Zouiten, President of the Fez Festival of Spiritual Music, emphasised the importance of peaceful coexistence between religions in Morocco, noting that the city of Fez is a great example of tolerance and mutual respect. He noted that the peaceful coexistence of Islam, Judaism and Christianity in Andalusia during the ‘Golden Age’ is a living example of what can be achieved in a spirit of tolerance and understanding.
Zouiten added: ‘Peaceful coexistence between religions continues in the Kingdom of Morocco, and Fez is a living example of this.’ ‘Fez is not only a spiritual capital, but also a symbol of tolerance and coexistence.’
Zouiten explained that the 27th edition of the festival celebrates the historical relations between Spain and Morocco, with artists from different countries such as Uzbekistan, India, the United States, Italy, Bulgaria, Tunisia, Turkey, Egypt and Ireland, promoting cultural understanding and openness.
He concluded his statement saying: ‘The Fez Spiritual Music Festival is the embodiment of the spirit of coexistence and dialogue, bringing together lovers of spiritual music from around the world to experience moments of peace and understanding.’
