Addis Ababa/Morocco begins first round of political consultations with the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia

Ambassador, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Fouad Yazoug, and Ethiopia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mr Mesgano Arga, chaired today in Addis Ababa the first session of political consultations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

The talks, held within the framework of the Joint Ministerial Committee between Morocco and Ethiopia, were an opportunity to examine the development of bilateral relations between the two countries since the historic visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to Ethiopia in 2016, and to identify ways to strengthen them.

In the midst of changing international relations, diplomacy and political consultations are vital tools to promote cooperation between countries. The first session of political consultations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, chaired by Ambassador Fouad Yazoug and Minister of State Mesgano Arga, is an important step towards deepening bilateral relations.

Since the historic visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to Ethiopia in 2016, relations between the two countries have witnessed a remarkable development.
