The Portuguese Embassy in Morocco has announced a partnership with BLS International Services to provide visa outsourcing services in Rabat and Casablanca, with plans for further expansion to additional centers in the coming months, the company revealed on Thursday.
BLS International stated to NDTV: “Over the past few years, we have been actively collaborating with the Portuguese government. This marks our second major win, following our initial contract with Portugal in Russia. This exclusive agreement is a significant step in enhancing the visa application process for travelers to Portugal from Morocco.”
Under the agreement, BLS International will offer essential services at their Visa Application Centers, including the acceptance of visa applications, passports, visa fees, and supporting documents.
The company will also introduce an innovative appointment system utilizing facial recognition technology, aimed at simplifying the visa application process for approximately 20,000 applicants annually.
Shikhar Aggarwal, Joint Managing Director of BLS International Ltd., emphasized the importance of the partnership.
He added, “This pioneering collaboration with the Portuguese Embassy heralds a new era for visa services in Morocco. With advanced technology at our core and a steadfast commitment to excellence, we are not only improving the visa application process, but we are transforming it.”
In addition to application acceptance, BLS International will distribute visa application forms at service counters and through a dedicated website, assisting applicants in completing forms and providing information on various visa categories and the application process.
This announcement follows the Portuguese Embassy in Rabat’s statement regarding a new partnership to enhance visa application services. Effective May 1, 2024, VFS Global will no longer handle visa applications for Portugal, as per the announcement.
Established in 2005, BLS International Services Ltd. has been a global partner for technology-enabled services, known for setting standards in visa, passport, consular, citizen, e-governance, attestation, biometric, e-visa, and retail services.
