Today, Thursday in Rabat, Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch held discussions with the French Minister of Economy, Finance, Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, Bruno Le Maire, who is on a working visit to the Kingdom.
A statement from the Prime Minister stated that during these discussions, which were attended by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fattah, and the Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, Fawzi Lakjaa, the two parties expressed the specificity and uniqueness of the existing relations between Morocco and France, and the will of the two countries under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the French President. Emmanuel Macron, to move forward with the multidimensional strategic partnership.
According to the communication, the Prime Minister appreciated the quality of relations between Morocco and France, and the importance of giving them a new breath in order to keep pace with developments at all levels, within a framework of close coordination.
These discussions made it possible to highlight the promising prospects for industrial cooperation between the two countries in important sectors, especially the green hydrogen sector. They also constituted an occasion to praise the role of the French Development Agency in keeping pace with the reforms and development programs programmed by the Kingdom of Morocco.
The two sides discussed the importance of developing economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, especially since France is Morocco’s first partner in terms of tourism revenues and foreign investments, and that bilateral trade exchanges in 2023 amounted to approximately 163.1 billion dirhams, an increase of approximately 33 percent compared to the year 2021.
The communication indicated that, during this meeting, the high-level Moroccan-French meeting, expected to hold its 15th session in Morocco, was discussed as an important mechanism to strengthen and give new breath to the existing partnership between the two countries.
