Global Research (AGR): Against the dirham…the dollar declines by 0.47% to 10.02 during the week from April 8 to 12

The dollar depreciated against the dirham by 0.47% to 10.02, during the week of April 8 to 12, according to Attijari Global Research (AGR).

This development is driven by a negative basket effect which stands at -0.19%, combined with a greater liquidity effect at -0.28% in favor of the dirham, indicates AGR in its recent “Weekly Mad Insights – Currencies” note.

Liquidity spreads eased by 28 basis points this week, to a level of 1.08%. Originally, export flows which eased the liquidity situation within the interbank foreign exchange market.

Furthermore, AGR indicates that at the international level, the recent inflationary acceleration, deviating further from the 2% target, is strongly fueling volatility on the currency market.

In this sense, AGR analysts recommend that importers reduce the hedging horizons of their dollar operations.
