The Moroccan Association for Human Rights (AMDH) section in El Ataouia-Tamellalt, located in the province of El Kelaâ des Sraghna, has sent a letter to the Attorney General at the Court of Appeal in Marrakech, demanding the harshest penalties in a case involving the repeated gang rape of a 13-year-old girl with disabilities, which resulted in her pregnancy and subsequent childbirth.
According to information in the letter, the victim, who resides in the Oulad Slama area of the Oulad Aârad commune, was assaulted multiple times by three individuals aged between 60 and 72 years. During these assaults, she became pregnant and gave birth on January 10, 2025, at Es-Salama Hospital in El Kelaâ des Sraghna.
The association emphasizes that this crime, which includes deception, seduction, and repeated rape of a minor, encompasses all legal elements to be classified as a serious crime under Moroccan penal law. It notes that the perpetrators exploited the victim’s disability and precarious situation to achieve their goals.
The AMDH’s complaint also highlights the state’s responsibility to protect the victim and ensure her fundamental rights to safety and a decent life, considering these acts as serious violations of children’s rights.
The association calls for a thorough investigation to uncover all circumstances surrounding this crime, stressing the urgent need for intervention to deliver justice for the victim and guarantee her rights and those of her family. It also insists on imposing the severest sanctions against the perpetrators to end impunity.
