On Saturday, January 11, 2025, the General Directorate of National Security inaugurated a new police training school in Marrakech, commemorating the anniversary of the presentation of the Independence Manifesto. The newly established school, named “Marrakech Security Guards Training School,” marks an important step in enhancing police training systems in Morocco. The school aims to increase the capacity of police training programs, providing specialized training for new recruits in the security guards sector, as well as improving continuous training programs to ensure the readiness of police personnel to meet emerging security challenges.
This initiative is part of a series of structural projects announced by the General Directorate of National Security to upgrade and qualify security facilities across the country. Since 2016, the directorate has embarked on an ambitious project to develop the police training system, which includes revising the employment charter, enhancing educational curricula, and establishing new training schools in various Moroccan cities. The Marrakech school joins others in cities such as Laayoune, Oujda, Fes, Tangier, Benslimane, and the Royal Institute of Police in Kenitra.
Before the official opening of the school, the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance conducted a site visit to review the final preparations. He received briefings on the pedagogical curricula and the police training programs offered to the trainees. The director stressed the importance of aligning training programs with the new security work philosophy, which focuses on citizen service and quality security services. He also emphasized the need to provide a training environment that fosters the trainees’ knowledge, ethics, and awareness of human rights.
The school, built on a total area of 7,826 square meters, has the capacity to accommodate 500 trainees, ensuring optimal conditions for training. It features residential facilities, health services, dining areas, modern classrooms, as well as semi-military and sports training facilities. This school is a significant addition to the infrastructure of the General Directorate of National Security, reflecting ongoing efforts to improve and develop police training standards.
