Police Refer Suspect to Justice in Organized Crime Network Case

The National Brigade of Judicial Police referred a 41-year-old suspect to the competent public prosecutor’s office in Marrakech on the morning of Friday, January 10, 2025. The individual is suspected of involvement in a criminal network engaged in fraud, forgery, car theft, and tampering with vehicle technical data.

According to available security reports, the network operates through an organized scheme involving the establishment of fake companies and the use of forged documents to secure loans from financial institutions for purchasing new vehicles. The group then alters the technical data of these vehicles and issues fraudulent registration certificates to resell them as used cars.

The first suspect was apprehended by judicial police in Rabat in November 2024. He was subjected to a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent prosecutor and subsequently referred to court upon the conclusion of the inquiry.

As part of ongoing investigations, the National Brigade of Judicial Police arrested a second suspect last Thursday. Searches linked to this case resulted in the seizure of 14 vehicles, one of which was reported stolen in Spain, highlighting the cross-border nature of the network’s activities.

Under the supervision of the public prosecutor, the second suspect was placed under police custody for further investigations aimed at identifying all individuals involved and uncovering potential extensions of this criminal enterprise. The suspect was referred to justice earlier today after the investigation phases were concluded.
