The session of the Moroccan House of Representatives held on Monday, December 2, 2024, witnessed heated discussions among MPs regarding several organizational and procedural issues within the legislative body. The debate focused on the decision by the Bureau of the House to withdraw the absence list, which had caused dissatisfaction among several MPs after being read out in a previous session on November 14, 2024.
MP Abdellah Bouano raised the issue, pointing out that the Bureau had decided to retract the list and apologize to the MPs whose names were mentioned, due to technical problems that prevented their attendance from being properly recorded using the designated card. Bouano called for respect for organizational procedures, emphasizing that the error had affected the credibility of the institution and the reputation of the MPs.
In response to the MPs’ remarks, the session’s president acknowledged the concerns and noted that the Bureau, after reviewing the feedback from several MPs and parliamentary group leaders, decided to cancel the absentee list read in the November 14, 2024 session. Consequently, the list was removed from the session’s minutes, and an official apology was issued.
