Spanish police dismantled a criminal network specialized in using “drug-trafficking drones” to smuggle prohibited substances across the Strait of Gibraltar, in a significant operation in the city of Algeciras.
Smugglers developed an innovative method of transporting drugs using drones, which allows rapid transportation of illegal substances with minimal risk to those involved in the operation.
Several of these drones were seized by Spanish authorities. The police will reveal the details of the operation tomorrow Thursday at the local police headquarters in Algeciras.
