Comprehensive Campaign Launched to Reclaim Public Spaces in Hay Saada, Fes

In a move aimed at enhancing public order and ensuring respect for shared spaces, local authorities initiated a wide-scale campaign this morning to reclaim public spaces in the Hay Saada district and surrounding areas. The campaign follows directives from the Wali of the Fes-Meknes region, Mr. Mouad Jamai.

Overseen by the district governor (Basha) alongside the local leader (Caïd), the operation targeted key areas such as Saint-Louis Street and Taha Hussein Street. Authorities firmly intervened to remove all forms of illegal occupation of public spaces, which had been obstructing traffic and compromising the aesthetic appeal of the neighborhood.

The initiative seeks to regulate public spaces and improve residents’ quality of life while ensuring compliance with laws governing the proper use of public areas and supporting organized commercial activities.

Officials emphasized that this campaign is part of a broader strategy to control the use of public spaces. They are committed to sustaining these efforts through intensified field monitoring. Authorities also stressed the importance of collaboration between citizens and relevant entities to ensure the success of these initiatives, which benefit the entire community.

The campaign is expected to extend to other areas in the coming days, reinforcing efforts to enhance the urban landscape of Fes and aligning with the Wali’s vision of balancing economic activities with public order.
