Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance in Morocco, hosted Ms. Francisca Bostyn, Director General of Belgian State Security, on the morning of November 25, 2024. Ms. Bostyn led a high-ranking security delegation on a working visit aimed at bolstering security cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting centered on shared priority issues, particularly countering the growing terrorist threats in regional and international contexts, with a focus on the Sahel region. Ms. Bostyn highlighted the significance of Morocco’s security partnership, praising its expertise and successes in combating extremism and terrorism. She emphasized Morocco’s role as a reliable ally for European partners.
Both sides discussed expanding cooperation to include new areas, such as intelligence sharing and the development of joint programs to strengthen internal security. They stressed the importance of exchanging experiences and expertise to address emerging security challenges amid shifting global dynamics.
