The US dollar exchange rate against the Moroccan dirham recorded a notable decrease during the week from October 21 to 25, dropping from 9.91 to 9.87, according to a report issued by Attijari Global Research.
The financial institution’s weekly report explained that this decline was attributed to a negative market effect of 0.49% in favor of the dirham, offset by a positive basket effect of 0.11% due to the strengthening of the dollar during this week.
The dirham’s liquidity spreads witnessed a decrease of 49 basis points to reach -0.65% during this week, with expectations of another rise before the end of the current year.
In a related context, Attijari Global Research experts believe that the upcoming US elections could have a “major” impact on the direction of the EUR/USD pair. Based on new foreign exchange market forecasts, analysts advise importers to hedge their foreign currency operations for a three-month period.
