The Moroccan Government Council has approved Decree No. 2.24.957, aimed at reorganizing and defining the responsibilities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates.
Presented by Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, the decree aligns with the royal directives that shape Morocco’s strategic diplomatic framework and outline the nation’s foreign policy in defending its supreme national interests and enhancing its role as a key player on the international stage.
This initiative responds to global diplomatic shifts and evolving requirements, aiming to modernize the ministry’s administrative structure for improved efficiency across its divisions.
The decree includes the adoption of a new structure aligned with national and international priorities, updating existing units, and establishing new ones to ensure the ministry’s capacity to address current issues and broaden its scope in global diplomacy.
Additionally, the project involves transforming the “Moroccan Academy for Diplomatic Studies” into the “Moroccan Institute for Training, Research, and Diplomatic Studies,” expanding its mandate to include scientific research and training in diplomatic fields.
This change seeks to strengthen the skills of Morocco’s diplomatic corps and enhance professional performance, supporting the continued advancement of Moroccan diplomacy according to international standards and fulfilling the nation’s aspirations on the global stage.
