Launch of National Campaign Against School and Cyberbullying in Morocco

Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Meryem, President of the National Observatory for Children’s Rights, and Mrs. Brigitte Macron launched a national campaign today in Rabat aimed at combating school and cyberbullying.

This new initiative combines technology and community awareness to tackle the growing issue of bullying in various forms.

The campaign, titled “Let’s Work Together,” reflects Morocco’s commitment to protecting children from the scourge of bullying and introduces innovative tools and mechanisms to address this phenomenon.

Among the key highlights of the campaign is the launch of the “Itihad” app, specifically designed to combat bullying and provide immediate support to affected children.

This app, presented during the event by engineering students in collaboration with psychologists, is the result of a hackathon dedicated to developing digital solutions for the psychological crises faced by children.

The app allows students to confidentially report bullying incidents and provides educational content to help create a more respectful and safe school environment.

The campaign includes various activities, such as broadcasting awareness capsules in thousands of schools and conducting workshops led by specialists.

Additionally, a three-year training program in partnership with the Ministry of National Education aims to empower schools to effectively identify and address bullying cases, along with training teachers to support affected students.

Awareness materials will also be distributed in women’s clubs under the Ministry of Youth and within multimedia classrooms in schools.

This event also served as a platform to showcase the psychological support mechanisms provided by the National Observatory for Children’s Rights, particularly through the “green number 2511,” which offers children a means to report incidents of violence and abuse under the supervision of specialists in psychology and children’s rights.

The meeting concluded with the presentation of the “Lalla Meryem Award” to a group of engineering students who contributed to the development of the “Itihad” app, recognizing their efforts in providing creative solutions that serve children in their educational environments.
