President of the Fes Municipality, Abdel Salam Al-Baqali, recently hosted a dialogue gathering that brought together local officials and sports figures to discuss ways to enhance collaboration and support for the sports sector, particularly focusing on football within the city.
The meeting aimed to establish a shared vision to advance sports in Fes, known as Morocco’s cultural capital, by improving infrastructure, increasing training opportunities, and supporting local clubs.
Attendees highlighted the current state of sports in Fes and the challenges facing football development, including a shortage of modern stadiums, limited funding for emerging clubs, and the need for comprehensive training programs that equip young athletes for national and international competitions.
The discussions also emphasized the importance of a sustainable strategy to foster sports in Fes, with a focus on nurturing young football talents.
The proposed strategy includes encouraging youth participation through local leagues, creating sports facilities to attract fans, and strengthening community engagement through sports.
