In an effort to enhance transparency and communication with council members and the public, the Mayor of Fes discussed the approval of a new delegated management contract for the city’s waste management sector during an official meeting.
The mayor explained that the process of selecting the company entrusted with waste management began in August 2023, involving coordination with several key stakeholders, including the municipal council, the Wilaya, the General Directorate of Territorial Communities, the Directorate of Public Networks, as well as the Department of Environment and Sanitation under the supervision of the Governor.
He emphasized that these procedures were carried out based on strict criteria adhering to principles of good governance and efficient management, ensuring the selection of the most suitable company capable of providing high-quality services that meet residents’ expectations and preserve the environment.
The mayor also stressed that this process was in full alignment with council members and in close coordination with relevant parties to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy to improve the city’s infrastructure and public services, while committing to applying best practices in waste management.
