Morocco Prepares to Participate in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games with a Delegation of 38 Athletes

The Royal Moroccan Federation of Sports for People with Disabilities (FRMSPSH), in coordination with the relevant national federations, is organizing a media meeting on Tuesday in Rabat to introduce the Moroccan athletes qualified for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Morocco will participate in this event, which will be held from August 28 to September 8 in Paris, with a delegation of 38 athletes. Moroccan athletes will represent their national colors in several sports including:

  • Para-athletics (motor and visual impairments)
  • Wheelchair tennis
  • Para-powerlifting
  • Para-taekwondo
  • Para-road cycling
  • Blind football

It’s worth noting that Morocco has collected a total of 38 medals during its participations in the Paralympic Games since 1988 in Seoul, including 16 gold, 11 silver, and 11 bronze medals. Para-athletics has claimed the lion’s share of these medals with 34 medals, while para-swimming (Seoul 1988), para-triathlon (Rio de Janeiro 2016), para-powerlifting (London 2012), and five-a-side blind football (Tokyo 2020) have each secured bronze medals.

This media meeting aims to highlight the preparations and aspirations of Moroccan athletes for this important global sporting event. Morocco seeks to achieve honorable results to add to its impressive record in the Paralympic Games.

The event provides an opportunity to showcase the dedication and talent of Morocco’s para-athletes, as well as the country’s commitment to supporting and developing para-sports. As the delegation prepares for Paris 2024, there is hope for continued success and possibly surpassing previous achievements in Paralympic competitions.
