Rabat – The Directorate of Public Enterprises and Privatization (DEPP), under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Morocco, reported in a statement issued today, Wednesday, that the average payment terms declared by all public establishments and companies reached 34.2 days at the end of June 2024.
The directorate explained in its statement that “the Ministry of Economy and Finance published on July 31, 2024, the payment terms declared by public establishments and companies for the month of June 2024, within the Payment Terms Observatory section on the ministry’s web portal.”
The statement added that this quarterly publication comes as part of the gradual approach adopted by the ministry since the first publication made on October 31, 2019.
It is worth noting that this step aims to enhance transparency in the financial transactions of public institutions and improve the business climate in the Kingdom of Morocco. It also contributes to accelerating the pace of payments to suppliers and partners, thus enhancing liquidity in the national economy.
It should be noted that this average of 34.2 days is considered a positive indicator of public institutions’ commitment to paying their suppliers’ dues within reasonable timeframes, which contributes to supporting economic activity and strengthening trust between the public and private sectors.
