Friday newspapers: A worsening crisis in Moroccan hospital centers. An ochrei kills his father in the Sefrou province

The Moroccan newspaper “Al-Ahdath Al-Maghribiya” begins its report by highlighting the worsening crisis in Moroccan hospitals. In addition to the acute shortage of medical staff, these centers now suffer from a scarcity of vital medicines and medical supplies, as well as a lack of essential equipment. In some cases, the situation has reached the point where some facilities are described as being in a state of “dying.”

The report highlights Ibn Rushd Hospital in Casablanca as an example of this deteriorating situation, where vital devices such as CT scanners, MRI machines, and cardiac catheterization equipment frequently break down. It indicates that the shortage of essential medicines has become a noticeable phenomenon, with some medical staff reporting that the current situation is the worst in over a month.

In a related context, the newspaper quoted statements from Bouazza Kharrati, president of the National Federation of Consumer Rights, who pointed out the absence of an effective institution to combat fraud in Moroccan markets. Kharrati explained that fresh fruits and vegetables are sold without supervision, citing Law 13/83, which exempts these products from control.

The newspaper also mentioned an initiative by the Sebou Water Basin Agency, which launched an awareness campaign for 2024 to warn about the dangers of swimming in dam lakes, in cooperation with local authorities and civil associations.

The newspaper “Al-Massae” reports a tragic incident about a man in his twenties who killed his father in Sefrou province due to a financial dispute, highlighting social and family tensions.

The newspaper also points to the continued suffering of the Al Haouz earthquake victims, where many families still live in tents without receiving adequate support, prompting them to plan new protests in front of the parliament.

Finally, the newspaper “Al-Alam” quotes parliamentary deputy Moulay Zoubeir Habbadi questioning the government’s plan to address the lack of modern communication means in remote areas. It also highlights statements by Moulay Hamdi Ould Errachid, president of the municipal council of Laayoune, about the importance of the “Tiznit-Dakhla” expressway and its role in the economic and strategic development of the region.
