Government Spokesperson Mustapha Baitas shed light on the government’s preparations for Eid al-Adha 2024 during the press briefing following the Cabinet meeting. He outlined the two main pillars of these preparations: the numbering, quality, and control operation, and the import opening operation.
Baitas expressed optimism about doubling the numbers this year, with the expected number of heads of livestock reaching 600,000. He acknowledged the complexities and challenges of the import process, emphasizing the government’s ongoing efforts to facilitate this process and ensure the availability of sacrificial animals in an accessible and suitable manner aligned with Eid al-Adha celebrations.
