Thanks to precise intelligence from the police and judicial police, a dangerous gang has been dismantled and a massive cocaine shipment has been seized in Tangier.
Elements of the Tangier Prefectural Judicial Police, in collaboration with the General Directorate of National Territory Surveillance, successfully arrested three individuals, one of whom was wanted by justice for drug-related offenses. The suspects are believed to be part of a criminal network involved in the illicit trade of drugs and psychotropic substances.
During search operations carried out as part of this case, two of the suspects were caught in the act of receiving a shipment of cocaine estimated at around 330 grams. A woman suspected of involvement in this criminal activity was also arrested.
Continued search operations in this case resulted in the seizure of three vehicles and a large sum of money suspected to be proceeds from the illicit drug trade. The cash amount exceeded one and a half million dirhams, in addition to another amount in European currency.
The suspects have been placed in police custody at the request of the judicial investigation being carried out under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office. The aim is to investigate all aspects and possible links of this criminal activity and to continue to arrest any person whose involvement in this case is proven.
