The National Office of the National Justice Union, affiliated with the Democratic Labor Confederation (CDT), issued a strongly worded statement following its regular meeting held at the Regional Union headquarters in Fez on Saturday, April 5, 2025. The statement expressed its strong condemnation of what it described as the “genocide” the Palestinian people are being subjected to, denouncing the “brutal aggression” and attempts to “uproot them from their land and history by the Zionist entity.”
On the national level, the statement criticized the “anti-popular and undemocratic policies of the employers’ government,” holding it responsible for “striking the purchasing power of citizens and deepening social disparities,” amid the “spread of corruption and the dominance of its influence over most institutions.”
At the sectoral level, the National Office highlighted the “suffering of justice employees,” pointing to the “great pressure” they face due to the “severe shortage of human resources and the high number of cases presented.”
In this context, the statement called on the Minister of Justice to “assume his political responsibility to ensure trade union freedoms” and to stop “all forms of harassment against the activists of the National Justice Union in many locations.” It also rejected the “results of the selection interviews for leadership positions in regional directorates and courts of the Kingdom,” accusing them of “lacking integrity, transparency, and equal opportunities.”
The National Office reiterated its call for the Ministry of Justice to complete the sectoral dialogue on the union’s demands, calling for “organizing professional competency exams at the end of April” and “creating a new grade for each framework of the court clerks’ body.” It also expressed surprise at the “lack of efficiency in implementing the results of the recent transfer movement” and demanded “clarification of the justifications for changing the contract of the Mohammedan Foundation for Social Works.”
In conclusion, the National Office called on “all activists of the National Justice Union to participate intensively in the May Day marches,” announcing the holding of the National Council session of the National Justice Union in Marrakech on Saturday, May 24, 2025.
