Mobile Speed Radars in Secret Mode Raise Parliamentary Concerns, Minister Interrogated: “Is the Goal to Ambush Drivers?”

MP Rachid Hammouni, head of the Progress and Socialism Party group in the House of Representatives, has questioned Minister of Transport and Logistics, Mohamed Abdeljalil, regarding the legality and validity of certain traffic violation reports.

In a written inquiry addressed to the minister, Hammouni raised concerns after receiving complaints from citizens who claim they were unfairly fined for traffic violations they did not commit.

The MP questioned the procedures followed by the ministry to ensure the legality of these reports and whether they comply with the established legal and administrative standards. He pointed out cases where drivers were fined despite asserting they had not committed any infractions.

Hammouni emphasized the importance of respecting citizens’ rights and ensuring transparency in traffic monitoring procedures. He warned that issuing unlawful fines could harm citizens and erode public trust in official institutions.

In conclusion, the MP urged the minister to clarify the measures the ministry intends to implement to prevent such cases and ensure the fair handling of all traffic violations.
