Upcoming Government Council: Important Decisions and Draft Laws Affecting Education, Water, and Social Security

The Government Council, chaired by Aziz Akhannouch, Prime Minister, is scheduled to convene next Thursday to discuss a number of important issues on its agenda.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s office, the council will begin its session by discussing a draft law related to school education, followed by a study of a draft decree-law that addresses the amendment of the law establishing the National Agency for Water and Forests.

The statement also clarified that the council will continue to study two draft decrees. The first pertains to pensions for old age or retirement, which are provided by the National Social Security Fund, while the second concerns the application of certain provisions of the royal decree related to the social security system.

Following this, the council will move on to studying an agreement between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Malawi regarding mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, which was signed in Laayoune on July 16, 2024, along with a draft law approving this agreement.

Finally, the council will discuss proposals for appointments to senior positions in accordance with the provisions of Article 92 of the Constitution.

According to the same statement, the government will hold a special meeting after the conclusion of the government council, dedicated to studying some proposed laws.
