Morocco Receives First Batch of Advanced Turkish “Akinci” Combat Drones

Morocco has begun receiving the first batch of Turkish-made “Akinci” combat drones, a move that strengthens the Royal Armed Forces’ defense capabilities.

According to informed sources, the first batch of these drones, which were manufactured specifically to meet Morocco’s needs, arrived in the past few hours. The Moroccan version of these drones is characterized by its technical advancement compared to some versions previously sold to other countries.

The sources indicated that members of the Royal Air Force have received intensive training on operating these drones over the past two years, in preparation for their reception and operation.

Morocco was scheduled to receive this batch last month, but the delivery was postponed for logistical reasons.

“Akinci” drones are among the most advanced drones in the world, characterized by their ability to fly for long periods and carry advanced weapons, making them an effective tool in reconnaissance, surveillance, and combat missions.

Morocco’s acquisition of these drones comes as part of its efforts to modernize and develop its armed forces and enhance its defense capabilities in the face of growing security challenges in the region.
