A significant budget has been allocated to enhance the sports infrastructure in Taza, with local sources reporting that the Taza Municipality has set aside 30 million dirhams for the renovation of the municipal stadium as part of the city’s urban development projects. Additionally, a new football stadium project is planned for the Sidi Hamou Miftah area, with a budget of 110 million dirhams, in a partnership agreement with the Keldman Municipality.
The sources indicate that the renovation of the municipal stadium includes several works, such as rebuilding player changing rooms, upgrading the racetrack, and developing basketball, tennis, and handball courts, in addition to improving other facilities. These works are being supervised by the Taza Provincial Directorate, the Taza Municipality, and the National Agency for Project Implementation, as part of an integrated vision aimed at enhancing the city’s sports infrastructure.
Official sources revealed that the architectural consultation for the renovation of the municipal stadium has been announced under tender number CA/07/ANEPCEST/2025, with bids expected to be opened on April 17, 2025, marking the first step toward the project’s implementation.
The Taza Municipality has also planned a new football stadium project in collaboration with the Keldman Municipality, covering an area of 10 hectares. The project has reached the stage of selecting the land plot for the sports facility in the Sidi Hamou Miftah area, awaiting the completion of technical and administrative procedures.
Sources have praised the efforts of Taza’s Provincial Governor, Mr. Mustafa Al-Maiza, and the Taza Municipality Council, emphasizing that these sports projects are part of a comprehensive development strategy aimed at strengthening sports infrastructure and fostering local development, in line with royal directives to support and develop sports facilities across the Kingdom.
