As part of its ongoing efforts to ensure public health and protect citizens’ purchasing power, the Ministry of the Interior reported that the mixed regional committees carried out 4,988 field interventions from March 2 to 26, 2025, to enhance market monitoring and control mechanisms.
The ministry’s statement highlighted that these interventions led to the inspection and closure of 531 illegal establishments involved in production, storage, and wholesale and retail sales. Additionally, 239,402 kilograms of products that did not meet regulatory standards were seized, with expired or non-consumable items making up 65% of the total quantity confiscated.
The statement further mentioned that legal and judicial procedures were initiated against 327 individuals for violations. In this context, the ministry emphasized that the committees would continue their work regularly, focusing on strengthening coordination between relevant authorities and intensifying monitoring operations to ensure compliance with laws related to pricing, competition, and consumer protection.
