On the Occasion of Eid al-Fitr: Moroccan Prisons Allow Inmates to Receive Food Packages Under One Condition!

The General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration announced in a statement that, on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr 1446 AH (2025 AD), inmates will be allowed to receive food packages from their authorized visitors. This decision is based on the exemption of religious holidays from the general ban on food packages.

This initiative aims to positively impact inmates’ mental well-being and strengthen family ties.

According to the statement, inmates will be permitted to receive food packages only once, starting from the second day of Eid al-Fitr and for a full week. The schedule for this process will be determined by the administrations of the respective prison institutions.

For foreign inmates, the delegation will allow diplomatic and consular representatives to deliver food packages during their visits, following the same procedures.

The delegation also assured that all necessary measures will be taken to facilitate communication between inmates and their families to inform them of the required conditions for food package deliveries. Additionally, it urged families to participate responsibly in this initiative while emphasizing the importance of preventing any attempts to smuggle prohibited items that could compromise the security and safety of prison facilities.
