The National Association of Local Government Employees expressed deep concern in an urgent letter addressed to King Mohammed VI about the ongoing delays in implementing the provisions of the protocol signed in 2019 between the Ministry of the Interior and union representatives.
The association clarified that employees in this sector are suffering from “increasing marginalization and systematic exclusion,” despite the important role they play in providing services to citizens.
The association confirmed that the agreement, which aimed to improve the conditions of employees and enhance social dialogue, has not been implemented as expected. The follow-up has been limited to formal meetings that lack effective solutions. The letter added that the suffering of employees continues due to the delay in addressing their legitimate demands.
In this context, the employees pointed out the stark contrast between their situation and that of employees in other government sectors, where many have benefited from tangible improvements in their working conditions, while local government employees continue to face neglect and disregard.
