Hassan Tarek… A Strategic Appointment to Strengthen the Relationship Between Administration and Citizens

Hassan Tarek, born on January 1, 1974, in Bahlil, a town in the province of Sefrou, is a prominent figure in the fields of law, politics, and diplomacy. He holds a PhD in public law from the Faculty of Legal, Economic, and Social Sciences in Rabat. He also served as the coordinator of the network of heads of public law and political science departments in Morocco, marking him as a leading academic in legal and political fields.

Tarek began his professional career in 1997 as an inspector at the Ministry of Finance. Between 2002 and 2007, he served as an advisor to the Secretary of State for Youth. In the legislative domain, he was a Member of Parliament from 2011 to 2016, where he was a member of the Justice, Legislation, and Human Rights Committee in the House of Representatives.

In 2019, he was appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the Republic of Tunisia, where he gained valuable diplomatic experience, enhancing his vision in governance and institutional relations. This background adds significant value to his new role as the Ombudsman of Morocco.

In his new position, Hassan Tarek aims to build on the achievements of the Ombudsman institution by developing intervention mechanisms, particularly through digitalization and improving access to administration for citizens. His vision will reinforce the institution’s role as a vital link between individuals and administrative bodies, enhancing transparency and administrative justice principles.
