Starting April 2025: Digital Payments to Enhance Morocco’s Land Registry Services

n a significant step towards modernizing Morocco’s land administration, the National Agency for Land Registry, Cadastre, and Cartography has announced the introduction of electronic payment for land registry fees, starting Monday, April 14, 2025.

According to a memo from the General Conservator, this measure will apply to all applications submitted through the Document Filing Register for Review (R1). The new system will allow users to make payments electronically, eliminating the need for physical visits to land registry offices, as part of efforts to simplify procedures and improve services for citizens and investors.

This initiative aligns with Decree No. 2.18.181, issued on December 10, 2018, which establishes the conditions for the digital management of land registration operations and related services. It is part of a broader strategy aimed at digitizing administrative transactions, promoting transparency, and facilitating public access to land services.

The agency has assured that detailed implementation guidelines will be communicated to land registry offices, urging officials to consult central administrative departments in case of any challenges during the rollout.
