List of the Cheapest Moroccan Cities to Live in 2025

The High Commission for Planning, in its report on the consumer price index for February 2025, revealed the ranking of Moroccan cities based on the cost of living, according to the price indices recorded in each city.

According to official figures, the city of Guelmim topped the list of the cheapest cities to live in nationally, with the lowest index of 124.7, followed by Meknes (118.4) and Oujda (118.7). These cities remain among those with relatively low prices compared to other Moroccan cities.

Here is the list of the cheapest Moroccan cities to live in based on the price index:

  • Guelmim – 124.7
  • Meknes – 118.4
  • Oujda – 118.7
  • Tangier – 119.4
  • Casablanca – 119.2
  • Rabat – 118.8
  • Kenitra – 121.0
  • Tetouan – 120.5
  • Dakhla – 120.9
  • Settat – 119.0
  • Agadir – 119.5

It is noticeable from this data that cities in the south and central regions rank high in terms of lower living costs. This could be explained by the stability of prices or a relative decrease in the prices of some essential goods compared to the major cities.

These statistics provide an important reference for families and economic stakeholders when making decisions related to settlement, investment, or even internal migration, amid ongoing inflationary pressures in the country.
