Moroccan Police Arrest French-Algerian in Marrakech: Internationally Wanted for Serious Crimes

Moroccan security forces in Marrakech successfully arrested a 28-year-old French citizen of Algerian descent on Friday. The suspect, residing illegally in Morocco, was wanted under an international arrest warrant issued by French judicial authorities for involvement in serious criminal activities.

According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the suspect was caught recklessly driving in a dangerous manner, endangering road users. He also attempted to evade arrest by providing false identification.

A check of his records in INTERPOL’s database confirmed that he was wanted by French authorities for crimes including property destruction as part of an organized criminal gang, kidnapping and hostage-taking, and issuing threats of violence and murder.

The suspect has been placed under judicial custody pending extradition proceedings, and French authorities have been officially notified of his arrest as they prepare the necessary legal documents for his transfer.

This operation is part of Morocco’s ongoing security efforts to combat reckless driving, transnational crime, and international criminal networks, reinforcing cooperation with global law enforcement agencies.
