Reforming Agricultural Chambers on the Discussion Table: A Communication Meeting Between the Minister of Agriculture and Representatives of the Fes-Meknes Region

The President of the Agricultural Chamber of the Fes-Meknes region revealed that the Quality Hub in Meknes hosted a communication meeting on Friday, March 21. The meeting brought together the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water, and Forests with members of the regional agricultural chamber’s board, in the presence of the Director-General of Agricultural Advisory Services, the Regional Director of Agriculture, and several regional and provincial sector officials.

The President of the Agricultural Chamber stated that the meeting featured in-depth discussions on the challenges facing the agricultural sector in the region. The board members presented several requests and proposals aimed at amending the statutes of agricultural chambers and strengthening their role in supporting farmers and contributing to the sector’s development.

He highlighted that the session witnessed active engagement from all participants, addressing key issues facing farmers across the region’s provinces. The discussions emphasized the importance of improving governance within agricultural chambers and providing more effective mechanisms to support the sector’s evolving needs.

The President affirmed that this meeting is part of the ministry’s participatory approach to enhancing dialogue with agricultural stakeholders, with the aim of developing an integrated vision that contributes to sustainable rural development.
