On Friday, March 21, judicial police officers from the regional security department in Biougra arrested two individuals, one of whom is a 17-year-old minor, on suspicion of being involved in the dissemination of violent digital content that could cause public concern and undermine the general sense of security, according to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
Security services swiftly and seriously responded to a widely circulated video on social media, in which individuals were seen purchasing large quantities of fuel under the pretext of using them for alleged explosions within the city. They later ignited a fire in an open area while adding visual effects to create the illusion of a real explosion.
Extensive investigations carried out by the police led to the identification and arrest of two suspects, in addition to an employee at a fuel station, who is suspected of facilitating the commission of these criminal acts.
The adult suspect was placed under police custody, while the minor was subjected to judicial supervision. Meanwhile, an ongoing investigation, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, aims to uncover all circumstances surrounding the case and identify any additional individuals involved in these acts.
