Government Council to Meet on Thursday: New Laws, International Agreements, and Traffic Code Fines on the Agenda

The Government Council is set to convene on Thursday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch to discuss a range of legal and regulatory matters.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the council will begin its session by reviewing two draft decrees. The first concerns the regulation of maritime investigations into accidents involving fishing vessels, while the second involves amendments to the decree implementing provisions of the Traffic Code, particularly regarding fixed and conciliatory fines.

The council will also examine an agreement signed between Morocco and the Republic of Malawi on the transfer of convicted persons. This agreement, signed in Laayoune on July 16, 2024, will be accompanied by a draft law for its ratification.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the council is expected to discuss proposals for senior appointments in accordance with Article 92 of the Constitution.
