Sharp Criticism from Municipal Councilor Hakim Bensalem Against the Authenticity and Modernity Party: “Facade Democracy and Position Allocation in the Dark”

In a post that sparked widespread controversy, Hakim Bensalem, a municipal councilor in the Fes Communal Council from the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), launched harsh criticism against what he described as a “facade democracy.” He claimed that young members are merely used as tools to fill halls and legitimize a false democratic scene, while positions and benefits are distributed behind closed doors among close associates.

Bensalem wrote in a Facebook post:

“When young people are used as tools to fill halls and manufacture a fake democratic scene, while the party elite monopolizes positions and benefits. This is a facade democracy where the dreams of the youth are stolen in a monotonous political parade, while seats are distributed among relatives and mistresses in the dark.”

His statements have raised questions about the internal transparency of the party, calling into question its decision-making mechanisms and how positions are allocated. They also reflect growing discontent among some party members, particularly after criticism of the “Generation 2030” initiative, which some view as a mere public relations effort to polish the party’s image without genuinely involving youth in political decision-making.

Bensalem’s bold stance may put him in direct confrontation with the party’s leadership, especially as more voices demand an open and honest internal debate about the party’s future and organizational practices.
