“Symphony of Colors”: Fez Hosts an Art Exhibition by Salima El Oukili

On International Women’s Day, the city of Fez is hosting an art exhibition by Salima El Oukili, titled “Symphony of Colors”. Organized by the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication – Culture Sector in the Fez-Meknes Region, the exhibition opened on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Mohamed El Kacimi Gallery and will run until March 20. The event offers visitors a rich artistic experience that reflects the creative journey of the artist.

In her statement about the exhibition, Salima El Oukili, a specialist in abstract art, described it as the culmination of years of research and experimentation in the field of visual arts. She emphasized that her works are deeply inspired by the interaction between colors and forms. She added:

“Symphony of Colors is not just a collection of paintings; it is a reflection of evolving emotions and sensations, with each piece telling a unique story.”

According to a reliable source, one of the exhibited paintings caught the attention of a renowned American pianist and composer, inspiring him to compose a musical piece based on it. This composition was later showcased in Manhattan as part of a virtual exhibition featuring the same artwork. Commenting on this event, El Oukili stated:

“This experience highlights the universal nature of art and its ability to bridge different cultures.”

She also noted that Fez, with its rich history and cultural openness, serves as an ideal setting for fostering such artistic dialogues across borders.

The exhibition features a collection of works characterized by innovative visual techniques, blending color contrasts, gradients, and layered textures to create vivid, dynamic paintings that invite viewers into a world of abstract emotions and interpretations.

This artistic event reinforces the prominent role of Moroccan women in the contemporary art scene, showcasing their ability to push the boundaries of creativity. It highlights their strong presence and significant contributions to both national and international cultural landscapes.
