The Public Prosecutor at the Court of First Instance in Berkane issued a decision on Sunday to launch a comprehensive investigation into the tragic incident that claimed the life of 10-year-old Yousra, who was swept away by heavy rain floods in the eastern region recently.
This decision comes as part of the effort to determine the legal and administrative responsibilities related to the tragic accident. The investigation is expected to involve hearing from all concerned parties and taking the necessary legal actions based on the investigation’s findings.
Yousra, aged 10, was swept away by floodwaters in the Berkane area during the rainstorm that hit the eastern region last Sunday. After exhausting efforts by rescue teams, her body was found using specialized equipment to ensure the safety of the area and expedite the process of locating the body.
Following the incident, the Public Prosecutor ordered the investigation to identify the causes of the accident and the responsibilities of the involved parties.
