The Regional Vigilance Committee in Azilal has decided to suspend classes on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at several educational institutions in the mountainous communes as a precautionary measure due to the heavy snowfall expected in the area.
The decision covers the following communes: Anrki, Tiloukit, Zaouiat Ahansal, Ait Amhmed, Ait Abbas, Tabbat, Ait Boulli, Ait Belal, Ait Tamellil, and Ait Amdis. The committee stated that this measure aims to ensure the safety of students and educational staff given the anticipated weather conditions.
The committee also emphasized that local vigilance committees will retain the authority to make further decisions based on the evolving situation, in coordination with local authorities.
This decision follows warnings from the General Directorate of Meteorology about heavy snowfall and a significant drop in temperatures across many mountainous regions. The directorate has advised residents to remain cautious and follow the guidance of relevant authorities.
