Taza Municipality Takes Action: Key Decisions on Wholesale Market Management and Property Protection

In accordance with the powers granted to the presidency of the Taza Municipal Council under Organic Law No. 113.14 on municipalities, and in an effort to ensure the optimal management of municipal facilities, Fes News has learned that an important meeting was held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the municipal headquarters. The meeting brought together several local officials and municipal departments to discuss the status of the wholesale fruit and vegetable market and other key municipal facilities.

The meeting was chaired by Ms. Alia Hisham, the seventh deputy president of the municipal council and supervisor of legal affairs, partnerships, and planning, alongside Mr. Ayoub Abouhafs, the fifth deputy responsible for overseeing several strategically significant municipal facilities. Also in attendance were legal representatives of the municipality, Professors Abdelwahab Mtich and Abdellah Tazi, as well as the acting Director-General of Municipal Services, Mr. Tarek El Amouri. Other key participants included Mr. Mustapha El Touihmi, Head of Financial Resources, Mr. Mohamed El Bennoudi, Head of the Disputes Office, and Mr. Rachid El Bouhi, Head of Legal Affairs, Partnerships, and Planning.

According to information obtained by Fes News, discussions centered on the challenges facing the management of the wholesale fruit and vegetable market. Attendees stressed the importance of ensuring compliance with legal regulations governing the facility and honoring the contract between the municipality and the traders’ association. The meeting also addressed strategies for safeguarding the municipality’s rights concerning public property, fees, and due payments—vital financial resources that support local development.

At the conclusion of the meeting, officials emphasized the need for continued coordination between municipal departments and legal representatives. They also underscored the importance of implementing legal and administrative measures aimed at improving municipal facility management through good governance and transparency, ultimately fostering sustainable development in the city of Taza.
