The General Directorate of National Security announced that police officers in the Moulay Rachid security area in Casablanca managed, on Monday evening, to arrest five people suspected of involvement in acts of violence linked to sports hooliganism and material damage to private property.
According to the same source, the police received a tip-off about clashes between a group of people believed to be fans of local soccer teams, which resulted in material damage to a number of cars parked on the public street. This situation called for the intervention of police patrols, which managed, in a short time, to arrest five suspects in connection with these criminal acts.
The arrested suspects were subjected to judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, with the aim of uncovering all the circumstances of the incident and identifying all those potentially involved, while investigations are still ongoing to arrest the rest of those involved.
