Press Release

Today, Monday, February 24, 2025, police units under the Marrakech Prefectural Security Department, acting on intelligence provided by the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), arrested a 36-year-old French national. The individual is the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by French judicial authorities for alleged involvement in drug trafficking, kidnapping, and attempted murder.

The arrest followed an alert in the database of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), which revealed that the suspect was internationally wanted under a Red Notice issued by French judicial authorities.

During the search and seizure operation, authorities recovered a driver’s license, a passport, and a set of foreign documents suspected to be forged. Additionally, four mobile phones and a laptop—believed to contain digital evidence linked to these criminal activities—were confiscated.

The foreign suspect has been placed under provisional custody pending the extradition process. French security authorities have been notified of the arrest to initiate the transfer of the extradition file.

This arrest underscores the effectiveness of international security cooperation and aligns with the ongoing efforts of Moroccan security services to pursue individuals wanted internationally for cross-border criminal activities.
