Maghreb Fes clinched a valuable 1-0 victory against Chabab Mohammedia in a thrilling match held on Friday evening at the Hassan II Stadium in Fes. The encounter, part of the 22nd round of the Botola Pro “Inwi” first division, saw intense action and dramatic twists.
The game’s only goal came in the 69th minute, courtesy of Hamza Afsal, securing three crucial points for Maghreb Fes in their push for a higher league position. Chabab Mohammedia had a golden opportunity to take the lead earlier in the match, but Ahmed El Houari missed a penalty in the 21st minute, leaving the score level until Maghreb Fes finally broke the deadlock.
The match took a dramatic turn as Maghreb Fes found themselves down to nine men. Anas Moulehamy received a red card in the 52nd minute, followed by his teammate Reda Hanawi, who was sent off in the 66th minute. Despite being at a numerical disadvantage, the home side showcased resilience, holding off Chabab Mohammedia’s pressure to secure the victory.
With this win, Maghreb Fes climbs to 36 points, temporarily securing fifth place in the standings. Meanwhile, Chabab Mohammedia remains at the bottom of the table with just four points, further complicating their fight for survival in the league.
