Promising Partnership Between the Euro-Mediterranean University and the Chamber of Handicrafts to Boost Training and Innovation in the Fez-Meknes Region

As part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between academic institutions and the handicraft sector, Fes News has learned that the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fez hosted a coordination meeting this week. The meeting brought together university officials and representatives from the Chamber of Handicrafts of the Fez-Meknes Region to lay the foundation for a partnership aimed at developing vocational training and continuous education for artisans, as well as enhancing the marketing of traditional products and improving the sector’s overall efficiency.

According to the information obtained by Fes News, the meeting was attended by key officials and industry stakeholders. Representing the university was Azeddine Atik, Director of Academic and Cultural Affairs, along with an accompanying delegation. The Chamber of Handicrafts was represented by its President, Naji Fakhari, along with Vice Presidents Mohsen Hamama, Anouar Asl, Mohamed Bourkiza, Ibrahim Mastour, and Jawad Ben Taher, in addition to a senior official from the department responsible for infrastructure promotion and training within the chamber.

Discussions focused on the contents of a forthcoming partnership agreement between the two entities, which aims to establish specialized training programs that will enhance the skills of artisans affiliated with the chamber and develop modern working mechanisms within the sector. The meeting also explored ways to improve the marketing of traditional products and the preparation of sectoral studies that could contribute to enhancing the performance of the handicraft industry both locally and nationally.
