In a move that strengthens Morocco’s position in the video game industry, AJB Games Studio, led by Moroccan developer Aymen Jabbari, is set to launch its new game, Uncursed, tomorrow, February 20, 2025, on Steam. This game marks another milestone in Jabbari’s career, as he continues to captivate gaming enthusiasts with his creative vision and innovative approach to immersive experiences.
Uncursed follows the story of a young man returning to his grandmother’s house after her mysterious disappearance, only to find himself trapped in a world filled with nightmares and supernatural events. As the tension escalates, players must solve puzzles, interact with their surroundings, and make crucial decisions that shape the story’s outcome, adding a dramatic depth and enhancing the suspenseful experience.
AJB Games Studio has ambitious plans to bring Uncursed to a worldwide audience. Initially, the game will be released in English, with future updates introducing support for nine additional languages: Arabic, Spanish, Japanese, German, Portuguese, Italian, Chinese, Korean, and Russian. This multilingual approach reflects the studio’s commitment to expanding its reach and engaging players from diverse backgrounds.
Like some of the best titles in the adventure and thriller genre, Uncursed features a non-linear gameplay style, offering players three possible endings based on their choices:
- The Standard Ending: Achieved by successfully completing all challenges and puzzles.
- The Missed Opportunity Ending: Occurs when key details are overlooked, revealing only a partial truth.
- The True Ending: Available only to those who uncover all secrets and piece together the full story.
Despite not being fully released yet, Uncursed has already gained significant traction on Itch.io, where the demo version was downloaded over 2,400 times in just five days. The game even made it into the platform’s Top 10, reflecting the high anticipation surrounding its official launch.
